I’m speechless on Mistah F.A.B.’s new album “I found my notebook 2: The Lost Notebook” because it brought me back to basics of appreciating hip-hop music. There are no gimmicks, “Hyphy” is (supposedly) dead and gone but Fab managed to move away from all that and drop a solid album filled with honest to goodness hip-hop. There’s an all-star line up of emcee’s I enjoy hearing and did not expect on this album.
Fab bridged the gap within hip-hop and featured the likes of Talib Kweli, Royce Da 5’9, Andre Nickatina, Prodigy, The Grouch, Jadakiss, N.O.R.E., Beeda Weeda, San Quinn, Erk The Jerk and so many others. It’s sounds like a lot to swallow but for $10 bucks I’m a happy camper. It’s a call out to quality material without the cheap frills. Some might say the albums dull and boring because Fab isn’t going dumb and sipping on purple stuff… but damn, on the lyrical tip there’s a sense of consistency I really didn’t see in past albums. “I found my notebook 2: The Lost Notebook” isn’t just for bay area heads… it’s for everyone loving good rap music.
